Question by Gibrizli Omer: What health problems are associated with foot fetishism?
What health problems are associated with foot fetishism? Esp the worship / licking of feet
Any particular diseases

Best answer:

Answer by Anama
As long as the person is with someone of a legal age and the same species who indulges this fetish willingly, and they do not try to force their desires on anyone else (like those people that break into other people’s homes and lick their toes, lol!) , then it really isn’t a problem…

but if you mean what diseases you could possibly get or give, just make sure the feet are clean pre-activities and there are not any infectious problems such as herpes or anything like that. If you have oral or any type of herpes (facial, whitlow, genital) and there is a cut or break in the skin on the feet, then refrain from activities until the wound is healed. This is especially important should the person be getting manicures where there could be small breaks in the skin. Other than that and fungal issues have at it, lol!

Beauty Tips – Foot Care And Hygiene

March 26, 2010 by

Your feet bear the brunt of your whole body, they take you where ever you want. However over working them without the proper care they need can get you into trouble. Imagine not being able to walk just because your feet are too sore from the dry skin that seems to be peeling off, or the corns that just make it impossible for you to wear shoes to work. When it comes to your feet you should take as much care of it as you can, after all they provide you with a solid base.

Our feet are the unsung heroes of the lower body. Every day they carry us through the world, over long distances and in uncomfortable shoes, getting us where we need to go. But it’s hard to stand up to the world on feet that don’t want you to stand on them at all, so help your feet to help you, by following these simple foot care and hygiene tips.

Happy feet all start with a good scrubbing. Healthy feet are clean feet, so you should be washing yours every day. Use a mild soap that won’t dry them out, and make sure that you’ve rinsed all of the soap off when you’re done- there’s nothing like a little left-over soap to irritate the skin between you toes.

If your feet have a tendency toward dryness, moisturizer is a must. With your feet, you can feel free to use a heavy moisturizer that you would never consider using for your face care routine- you can even go as heavy as petrolatum, vaseline or soft paraffin to combat cracking, dry skin, and your feet will thank you for it. To get the best results, always moisturize after washing your feet, and, for the heavy-duty emulsifying treatment, massage a thick coat of heavy moisturizer into your skin before bed, and wear cotton socks. This will help your feel retain more of the moisturizer, quenching and softening dry, hard skin while you sleep.

And what are healthy feet without healthy toenails? The fact is, if you neglect your toenails, your feet just aren”t taken care of. So keep them trimmed and clean. It’s important that you trim them close the toe, to avoid painful breakage, and trim them straight across. Rounded toenails might look nice, but they make your toes more vulnerable to painful and unattractive ingrown nails. Save yourself the misery, and cut them clean across, every time.

No one wants to hear it, but when it comes to feet, it’s often what’s on the outside that counts. If you’re wearing shoes that don’t fit, shoes that don’t have proper arch support or that don’t have good insole cushioning, your feet will tell you so by aching and throbbing throughout the day. And no matter how nice they might make your legs look, don’t wear high heels if you have much walking to do- it might land you with killer back pain. We might sometimes wish we looked like supermodels, but believe me, you would never want to literally walk a mile in their shoes-your feet would be killing you after ten steps. So be kind to your feet, and make good shoe choices.

Give your feet some breathing space, always wear socks that provide your feet with proper ventilation. You can also avoid wearing socks when it is very hot, specially if you don’t need to go to work. Always wash your feet before going to bed as that would prevent the spread of bacteria on your feet.

Winter Foot Care

Make sure you pamper your feet properly and provide a good care in order to get smooth and healthy feet. It is essential not only for your beauty, but for your health to. If you don’t treat your feet, it can lead to dry skin, cracked heels and further infections. So here are a few tips you should pamper your feet with.

First of all, you should make sure your shoes are perfectly comfortable. If you wear uncomfortable shoes, your feet won’t get a proper blood circulation. Which will not only make you feel tired, but harm your legs and bring to further problems.

Relax your feet as often as you can. Position them in a higher place than your body, than soak them into a lukewarm water. Use glass balls to massage and stimulate your feet and refresh your pedicure. You can also use a blood circulation improving massage and aromatherapy to stimulate your sences to.

Rejuvenate your feet by removing all the dead skin cells. Exfoliate your feet and apply a soothing cream that will deeply nourish your skin. Make sure you keep your feet clean, specially if you already have dry, cracked or specially infected areas. If your skin is dry, bacterias will spread out very easily and create even more problems.

Also, to make sure you keep your body healthy, keep a healthy diet and do workouts. It is essential to maintain a good lifestyle and avoid any possible damaging factors, to have youthful, fresh appearance even at your feet area.

And finally, but not least, do your pedicure. If it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you have to forget about your pedicure! After your foot care routine of keeping them clean, you should match your pedicure with your manicure. You never know when your feet will get observed, so make sure even tiny little details like them are absolutely perfect.

Treating your feet, keeping them clean and polished with nice pedicure, you can assure a nice appearance all year long. It is much more easier to maintain a fresh look than treating skin problems. Avoid smelly feet by wearing shoes with a proper ventilation and use foot deodorants. They will not only provide a good smell, but protect your feet from bacterias. It is really not hard to keep your feet healthy while wearing boots. You just need to keep treating and pampering them and you can forget about any of your feet problems.

Children’s Foot Problems

March 24, 2010 by

Clubfoot.  Clubfoot is a common birth defect occurring in approximately 1 out of every 1000 births.  It affects males more often than females and can affect one or both feet.  Clubfoot should be diagnosed at birth (although sometimes doctors can diagnose clubfoot while the baby is still in the womb) and treatment should begin within the first weeks of the baby’s life.  The most common treatment for clubfoot is called the Ponseti Method.  This method of treatment involves multiple castings of the foot that gradually coax the foot into the corrected position.  Most children make a 100 percent recovery, although the corrected foot tends to be smaller and stiffer than normal.

Flat Feet.  Most infants appear to have flat feet due to baby fat that conceals the arch of their foot.  Flat feet is relatively common among children (some studies estimate as many as 20 percent of children have flat feet) although it usually goes away in early childhood.  Spending time barefoot will help your child develop healthy arches.  If you think your child may have flat feet, it might be time to take the shoes off!  Some children will not grow out of their flat feet and may experience pain in their feet, ankles, knees, hips and backs as a result of their condition.  Talk to your podiatrist about orthotics (special orthopedic padding) for your child.  These orthotic devices will help support your child’s feet and encourage the muscles in the arch of the foot to develop.

Ingrown Toenails.  Some children are genetically predisposed to ingrown toenails.  The shape of their nail bed (the skin that lies beneath the nail) or the nail itself may encourage the nail to grow into the skin.  This can especially be problematic among children or adolescents who lack the proper foot hygiene to properly care for their toenails.  Cut younger children’s toenails for them (straight across and not too short), and remind older children to cut their toenails regularly.

Foot problems in children should be treated early and aggressively to prevent long-term deformity.  You may want to take your child to a podiatrist if you notice unusual bumps on your child’s foot; if you notice signs of infection (look for redness, swelling or discharge); if you notice uneven wear on your child’s shoes (this tends to occur when your child is either flat footed or has high arches); if you notice blotchiness in the skin or toenail problems; if your child has trouble walking or trips over his own two feet; or if your child complains of foot pain or tenderness.

Beauty Tips – Daily Foot Care

March 21, 2010 by

Foot care should be an essential part of a daily health care regimen. Feet work hard during every day while supporting the body during standing, walking or running. Being confined in shoes and socks that retain moisture, or in sandals-type shoes which roughen skin, feet are prone to problems such as bunions, a painful enlargement at the joint of the big toe; corns or calluses caused by pressure on the skin of your foot resulting in hard, sometimes painful, patches of skin; plantar warts, which result from an infection by a virus; and fungal or bacterial infections such as athlete’s foot that occur from an excess of moisture common in the foot area which allows the fungus to grow.

There are many different ways to keep your feet healthy and prevent any problems with your feet. Out of all the methods ranging from buying over the counter products to visiting the doctor, the best way to treat your feet is the natural way. Using various easy home remedies you can cure your feet from many common types of conditions. And by using home made preventive remedies you can ensure that you never get these types of conditions again. However in extreme cases such as athlete’s foot it would be a good idea to consult a doctor, as you might need to take oral medication along with application medicines.

There are many over- the- counter products available to treat the common ailments of the foot. Lotions are used to treat dry and cracked skin, and often contain oils such as peppermint, to cool and soothe the feet and condition skin. Calluses can be treated using a pumice stone or similar device, which when rubbed gently on the affected area, removes the dry, dead skin so the fresh skin underneath is exposed. The alternatives to the pumice stone are foot files and loofah products that work much like the stone in removing old skin. There is a wide array of lotion and oil products available to use in combination with the files, stones, and loofah, making the sloughing off of dead skin more beneficial and easier to do. Liquid soaps and lotions also may contain pumice-like materials which exfoliate the feet. Prior to using these techniques, it is good idea to soak feet first in a bucket of water or utilize a store-bought foot bath to make the skin softer and removing hard skin easier. Foot baths are often electric and generate heated water and relaxing bubbles that bring relief to tired feet and legs and helps with the circulation of blood. Products such as foot powders and sprays aid in the reduction of moisture and help keep feet dry and odor-free while wearing shoes and socks.

Proper toe nail care is also an important part of maintaining foot health. Regularly trimming nails prevents painful ingrown nails which may lead to infections. Professional pedicures performed in beauty salons are often added to weekly or monthly foot care regimens. Pedicures typically incorporate massage, nail care, and skin care at relatively inexpensive prices. For treatments at home, salon style tools and products can be purchased and used for regular foot care maintenance.

Remember the most fundamental remedy is to keep your feet clean and to wear the proper foot wear. No matter how fashionable your sandals may be, if they are causing a problem throw them out. This is the best preventive measure you can take on behalf of your feet.
