Question by : what health conditions could keep you from joining the military?
I wear glasses and when I was 1 my right leg and feet got burned by hot water but they work perfectly fine and I have a heart murmur which I don’t know if its even serious or not but other than that, I don’t have any health problems. At least that I know of. So would that keep me from joining?

Asthma was a huge reason how people avoided the draft in the 1960s.

Will expats be forced to pay for health insurance?

Question by big_j_gizzy: Will expats be forced to pay for health insurance?
I already pay my taxes, the last thing I want is to foot the bill for illegal immigrants in the US receiving free healthcare on my dime, especially if I don’t even have access to it.
Flower, that’s exactly my point. Most people are adding their opinion without an answer. If I can even show evidence of obtaining a foreign insurance policy where I live I think it would be rediculos to be forced to pay for US health insurance.

Question by Rose D: How can I get a hospital admissions representative position with no former health experience?
I want a job as a hospital admissions representative but I have no former experience.
I am a senior in college and will be graduating in May. My major is speech pathology and I plan on working in a hospital after med school next fall.
I’m very smart and dependable. How can I get my foot in the door working in a hospital if every position requires previous experience?
I live in Atlanta, GA

You have two options:
1) Do unpaid work in the medical field: you could do an internship, or you could even just walk in and say you want to volunteer.
2) Think about your prior experience in other fields– maybe they’re indirectly related to the job you want? Prior admissions experience, experience in something medical-like such as social work might work.

Q&A: How do you find surgeons who will do surgery for free? Especially foot surgery?

Question by sunnydaygirl: How do you find surgeons who will do surgery for free? Especially foot surgery?
I’ve tried looking on Hunter “Patch” Adams website, the doctor whose life was portrayed in the Robin Williams’ “Patch Adams” movie. He takes a nonconventional way of helping patients, and that’s a start, but I didn’t get the information I was looking for. There are a lot of people out there w/out health insurance, and surely there have GOT to be some doctors/surgeons who would be willing to take someone’s case for free, even if just for the publicity. IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO KNOWS HOW TO FIND THEM? Thank you So much for any info.

What do I do with older pet rats that have health problems when I have to move?

Question by ladybugg: What do I do with older pet rats that have health problems when I have to move?
I’m moving internationally and there’s no possible way to take my pet rats with me. I don’t think anyone will want them because they’re older (nearing 3 years old) and not cute anymore. They have thinning hair, one has a mammary tumor, and one has a tumor on her foot with a sore that refuses to heal (the vet has said he can’t do anything for her). The girls are tame and don’t mind being picked up. I have a boy rat that is balding and doesn’t like to be held, but doesn’t bite. His cagemate is a year old and is active and healthy, but also shies away from people, but is not aggressive. They all get around just fine, are active and eating well. I didn’t want to have them put down at the vet because I heard it would be too painful. What should I do?
VirtueofIntolerance: That line of thinking would go along with feeding your ailing dog or cat to a hungry lion because they’re lower on the food chain. People that have never raised small animals, such as rats, don’t realize what good pets they make. Just because they’re rodents, have a shorter lifespan and don’t “bark” or “meow” doesn’t mean that they are less of a pet.
