Good Foot Habits – 7 Tips To Ensure Excellent Foot Health

Good foot care habits are crucial to your overall health and well being. Sadly, we do tend to rather take our feet for granted and only really notice them when something goes wrong. At this juncture we tend to blame everything else rather than acknowledge our role in causing the problems with our feet.
The following 7 tips will help you establish a practical and effective regime of caring for your feet. Apply these and you will reap the benefits of happy healthy feet.
Inspect Your feet daily
Take a little time to examine your feet for any chaffing, blisters or tenderness. Look for corns or fungal infections. Take action immediately as prevention is always preferable to dealing with a more serious foot problem.
Wash your feet regularly and thoroughly
Wash your feet with soap and warm water. Be sure to dry all areas thoroughly. Clean feet tend to be healthy feet.
Keep your nails at a healthy length
Inspect your nails and take action to ensure that they remain at a healthy length. This should be not too short as this can lead to the formation of ingrown toenails
Keep your feet well moisturised and soft
Apply a daily moisturising cream to keep feet soft and supple and to maintain their flexibility and suppleness. Hard dry skin can lead to a variety of skin conditions and foot problems.
Wear appropriate socks
Wear smooth fitting socks. Avoid socks that have seams that may create a ridge within the shoe lining. This could cause chaffing and blisters as well as being very uncomfortable.
Choose shoes that fit and are comfortable
An obvious point perhaps but so many foot problems are caused by ill fitting shoes, often worn for long periods of time. Do not wear the same shoes every day. Look for comfortable well fitting shoes that do not cause pressure in any one spot.
As a golden rule – when selecting shoes choose comfort and fit over fashion your feet will thank you!
Keep active throughout your life
Walking provides excellent exercise for your feet and will help improve circulation and prevent blood pooling in your ankles. Swimming is also excellent exercise but is careful in the changing room – these are notorious breeding grounds for foot infections!
Your feet are essential to your overall health and well being. We do tend to take them for granted and often have to suffer the consequences. This article has only scratched the surface of how to care for your feet. There is so much more to learn and apply

Having a drink is a part of the social mechanisms to interact with other people. Alcohol is healthy up to some point. However, a person must be wary of his own tolerance to this kind of drinks or end up with a good dose of a headache the next day. A hangover involves a nasty headache plus a constant feeling of wanting to throw up plus a tipsy way of thinking. This is a direct result of over consumption of alcoholic drinks.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Putting Your Best Foot Forward For Summer
As we get our faces and bodies ready to face exposure during the summer, we also need to remember our feet. After spending winter in socks and shoes, your feet may have taken a beating and you want them to look attractive when you go barefoot or wear sandals. Also, your feet carry the weight of your entire body and deserve some special attention.
Here are some foot care tips to get your feet looking their best for the summer days ahead…
Remove the dead, hardened skin from your feet at least once a week. Start by soaking your feet for about 10 minutes in warm water to soften the dead skin and dirt. After the skin on your feet is soft, use a foot file or pumice to rub away the dead skin and calluses.
After you file your feet, soak them in warm water for another 10 minutes. Add drops of essential oil to moisturize your feet while you soak them. Olive oil works quite well and lavender oil adds a pleasant scent to the water while it softens your feet.
Trim your toenails while they are soft. The proper way to cut your toenails is straight across to avoid ingrown toenails. If you want to shape the corners, use a large emery board.
Make sure your feet are completely dry after you soak them or take a shower. Wet feet are a breeding ground for bacteria, which causes additional peeling. Use a soft towel made from natural materials to dry your feet and in between your toes.
Moisturize your feet with a rich body or foot lotion every night before bed. Because the soles of your feet have no oil glands, it is particularly important to remember to moisturize your feet daily. To maximize the effects of the moisturizer, slather plenty of lotion on your feet and put on socks right away. Wear the socks to bed and the next morning your feet will be noticeably soft and supple.
Try soaking tired, swollen feet in cold water for a few minutes and then rest them up above your head for 10 minutes. You can do this by lying on your bed and putting your feet up on your headboard.
A really quick fix for tired, swollen feet is to take off your shoes and roll your feet over cold cans from the refrigerator.
Another great way to prepare your feet for summer exposure is a professional pedicure, which is the ultimate pampering experience for both women and men. Consider having a foot massage when you go, which increases circulation and feels simply terrific.
With a bit of extra foot care, you will be proud to run barefoot in the sun this summer.

These ingredients are then combined with naturally occurring preservatives, carrier agents, humectants, emulsifiers, and surfactants to make an array of natural skincare products (and can be such things as pure water, oils or natural soap, etc.).

Beautiful Skin, Beautiful Body: Why Skincare is Not Just for Your Face
Most skincare products are either used on the face or the body. This is because the facial complexion usually has different needs than the rest of the skin. For example, a rich, hydrating formula that will smooth those rough patches on the feet will probably clog pores and result in breakouts on the face. By the same token, ingredients used to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production on the face won’t provide much benefit on the legs and arms.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Top Back Care Tips for Specific Aerobic Activities
Aerobic exercise is an activity that elevates your heart rate and increases your oxygen consumption. And this type of activity improves your health and fitness level dramatically if you adopt it effectively, can help prevent future injury in your back. Aerobic activities are important to everyone, although it may be more important for you, a back pain sufferer. But a word of warning, do the aerobic activities in the correct manner, at least in the beginning. You can do a lot of damage to your already painful back by doing incorrectly. Treat it that your back is worth its weight in gold. Here are some of the ways that you can do it correctly before performing for any specific aerobic activities.
Aerobic Dance
Choose low-impact classes that involve no jumping and that keep one foot on the floor at all times. Be sure to perform an adequate flexibility and muscle warm up on your own. Wear athletic shoes that provide your feet with good support. If you are just starting to exercise, you will probably need to work up to participating for the entire class time. Alternate movements so that you give your arms and legs a rest. Be aware of your comfort zone and stay within it while dancing. Make sure that you maintain good posture and your back is getting good support.
Basketball, Racquetball, And Other Vigorous Sports
Vigorous sports can be particularly difficult for many people with pain. If you would like to try them, start slowly. At first, concentrate on practicing the basic movements rather than jumping into a competitive game. For example, start by shooting baskets or dribbling up and down the court. If you tolerate the basic movements, you can gradually increase the time and intensity of your play. Warm up with flexibility exercises, especially for trunk rotation, hip flexors, hamstrings, and calf muscles. while playing, stay within your comfort zone and pay attention to your back support. Finally, do not let yourself become overly fatigued.
Bicycling
Try different bicycle frames to decide whether you are most comfortable on a mountain bike, road racer, or hybrid. Get professional advice or a commercial “bike fit” to make sure the equipment fits you. Change positions and stretch your back and shoulders often while riding. You will also benefit from exercises designed to improve the strength and endurance of your leg, hip, abdominal, and back muscles. Use flexibility exercises for the hamstrings.
Swimming
Perform a flexibility warm up before starting to swim. Consider using a mask and snorkel to eliminate the need to turn your head to breathe and thus reduce your back motion and increase comfort. Choose strokes that do not cause back pain. The butterfly and breaststroke require a great deal of lower back extension and motion. You might need to avoid these, at least at the beginning. Whatever strokes you choose, alternate them frequently and remember to stay in your comfort zone and support your back. Avoid flip turns, which puts unnecessary strain on the back. Gradually increase your speed and length of exercise time.
Walking And Running
Wear good athletic shoes designed for walking or running and shock absorbing athletic insoles to keep your legs in good alignment. These also help absorb the impact when your feet hit the ground. Start with warm-up stretches, especially of the hip flexors, hamstrings, and calf muscles. Also include warm-up strengthening exercises for your abdominal, hip, and back muscles. Walk or run on smooth, even surfaces rather than uneven ground or gravel. At first, avoid going up hills and try to shorten your stride for comfort. Use good posture and head position to avoid neck and back strain. Avoid swinging your arms across your body, because this can cause twisting of the spine. Keep your intensity and frequency to moderate, comfortable levels, or intersperse faster and slower speeds to keep yourself from tiring quickly. Stop before you become overly fatigued. If you have knee or back pain after walking or running, you may want to check with a physical therapist, physician, or podiatrist to evaluate your ankles and feet. You may require a special insert for your shoes.

Summer Car Care Tips To Maintain A Car
November 6, 2010 by Foot Health
Summer weather change as the children face the same unpredictable, sometimes sunny, hot weather and heavy rains Piaopo, stealing of. Time is often the fault of the high rate of car, some minor defects is inevitable, leading to severe water or a running car engine inexplicable spontaneous combustion. Can be experienced in the test side is rain, while the flame test, therefore, timely to conduct maintenance on the car is very necessary.
Half of rain – flooding Posts
Scorching summer, heavy rain at any time to visit, rain driving safety issues need special attention. But nothing less than the sum up traffic, wading, sight, Tire Several points.
Steady slow at the head “Rainy day block traffic to make use of two or three block, and not to more than 40 kilometers per hour.” Rainy day street driving also pay attention to pedestrians, should be more than slow down whistle, patient avoidance, or non-motorized and pedestrian must not Road vehicles grab. Slippery roads to avoid skidding is to slow traffic on best practices. Slow travel allows the tire to increase the contact area with the road surface to provide greater traction. If you find that vehicle began to spin, please do not slam on brakes or a heavy blow to the direction, which may lead to skidding car into the state. The foot from the accelerator pedal up until the car slows and regain the road feel. If you need to brake, take gentle Diansha operation. Vehicles equipped with ABS can automatically Diansha operation, this time you should hit the brakes firmly and steadily. Body if he spun the same time a stable braking, skidding along the direction of rotation should be steering wheel, can inhibit the body rotation occurs.
Avoid low tire pressure Driving rain tires will be put forward higher requirements, the rainy season tread depth of the best guarantee of 4 mm. Because tread depth is too low, easy to form a water film between the tread and water, resulting in vehicle deviation, drift, and extended braking distances and so on.
Low speed high speed through the water area
Through the water area should be used to withstand the traffic and hold the accelerator, these cities adopted, must not stop halfway, or a sharp reversal shift direction, even if the neutral position needs to continue to use H-throttle, the engine’s exhaust pressure to maintain high the water pressure. Because once the car stalled, Exhaust Will immediately return to water, causing the exhaust system injury. At the same time when the vehicle can not speed too fast to wade across. In addition, the general depth of the wheel center had no exhaust pipe, or you have not seen the best are not common.
Moving sight in time to solve the problem of unclear
Driving rain prior to use large formation of dazzling lantern light curtains, to use Fog lamps . If the windshield fogged up the line of sight to generate air conditioning refrigeration need to open switch, windshield glass with a cold wind, it quickly so that a clear line of sight; rear windshield fog occurs, the need to open the rear windshield heater, to eliminate the fog . If the wipers sweep the water is not complete, so that rain, “stained” glass in the car, you can Wax Painted in the window, so that the wax film formed on the surface of glass to improve the sight.
To maintain distance between vehicles Vehicle braking distance on wet pavement is dry road braking distance of about 3 times, so be sure to pay attention to car maintenance and vehicle distance before, according to the different speed, at least to maintain vehicle distance of more than two body to prevent the occurrence of rear-end accident with a car, if too tight after the car with the car, you can open the double flash warning lights to warn rear. Pit comprehensive “examination.”
After heavy rain, no matter whether the abnormal vehicle, preferably to the 4S shop do a complete “physical examination.” Because some risks can not find the spot, but the car’s potential harm minimal, he notes. For example, the rain is very easy for some of the leaves, dirt, etc. attached to the cooling system or engine compartment cover the drainage hole, if not promptly clean up the dirt, make cooling system efficiency in the workplace, lead to mechanical failure. So, after the rain to look at the engine compartment and cockpit separated parts of the air intake location and left-right sub-board and whether the water on both sides of the trench, where water can get into the pore water for irrigation, dredging waterways, to to ensure optimum working condition of vehicles.
Rain automotive vehicle as many irrigation may have an impact on the performance of certain components, can result in a serious automobile not start. For example, after contact with water may short circuit, causing the engine easily scrapped. Many owners tend to drive in the rain more than a week after the vehicle was found to short circuit. Therefore, we waded in the rain, even if the normal operation of the engine, but also suggested that the pits in time to do some processing on the circuit equipment. For example, the circuit dried or dry, then start preheating. Also, check the brake system is also very important. As the braking system has a very strong adhesive force, easy access to water Brake Fluid In doing so, affect the braking effect, may cause serious Zhidongshiling, the proposed service station after the rain to professional scrutiny to prevent future trouble.
Rain water easily lead to lamps. If you find that there are mist lamp, you can open the headlight and the high beam is also open to see after 10 minutes Lights The mist is beginning to fade, whether an hour later completely disappeared, if lost would not worry, but if there is fog, it is necessary to deal with a professional after-sales service station.
Disposal: Wade extinction after ignition
If you encounter water, do not take risks. Last resort to wading, to maintain 12 block, do not lower the high gear speed, to breath through. If because of high water caused by flame, immediately turn off the ignition switch, do not try to re-start the engine, the vehicle moved to a safe place, try to keep vehicles from high to low, it can flow into the exhaust pipe out, to avoid damage to catalytic converter and muffler.

Wandering the vast landscapes, ancient man had to endure hot sand, freezing snow and rugged terrain in order to search for food and other resources. Protecting bare feet from harsh elements made shoes an ingenious advancement. As time went on, shoes became more specialized and a variety of styles were created to tackle specific tasks that were to be undertaken. This led to the birth of the shoe fashion industry that created the demand for shoes that emphasized individuality, personal identity and social class.
It was not uncommon for an aristocratic woman in ancient Greece to have more than 20 pairs of shoes and a servant to care for them. This is no different than the stereotypical, shoe-obsessed Carrie Bradshaw character with over ,000 worth of shoes but no place to live. British women spend over 1,000 pounds per year on shoes and 10% of British admit women to having at least 100 pairs of shoes. Even the obsessed realize that shoes are important to our health and survival. They know that poorly maintained or shoes that don’t fit well can cause pain, blisters and other serious conditions.
There are many reasons to ignore the pressure to consider shoes a disposable product including:
* Saving money.
* Making a very expensive pair last longer.
* Preserving a favorite pair that is no longer made.
* Reusing a pair for a younger child.
* The opportunity to donate your shoes when you no longer wear them.
* Keeping shoes out of landfills.
The basics of maintaining the condition of shoes depends on the materials used to construct them. Follow the guidelines below to keep your favorite pair of shoes in good condition.
1. Leather is a very common, durable, and aesthetically pleasing material used in all kinds of shoes. If not taken care of properly, leather is known to dry out, crack, and fall apart. It is recommended that leather shoes be periodically polished to maintain a healthy level of moisture. Polishing also provides a protective layer that repels water and dirt, keeping your leather shoes impeccably clean and presentable. Shoe polishing products are very easy to find, but if they are not within arms reach, petroleum jelly or castor oil are great buffers with castor oil providing more effective waterproofing.
2. Suede and nubuck are very similar to leather in look and texture but they are incredibly delicate and easily damaged by water. To prevent suede and nubuck from becoming damaged waterproof them. When these shoes get dirty a soft bristled brush can be used to lightly lift away dirt. There are other products made to clean these materials such as a suede bar which is a product made of rubber used to rub out dirt marks like an eraser. But common household items like masking tape can be used in a similar fashion and are remarkably effective. Sometimes these materials get so dirty that the only way to clean them is to scrape away the top layer of the material. Consider using a shoe repair shop for this type of maintenance.
3. Shoes made of textile or canvas are not as hard to keep clean. These include your common sport shoes, tennis shoes, or casual walking shoes. These shoes are normally machine or hand washable which makes life very easy. Keeping your shoes clean in general will leave them in wearable condition making you less likely to throw them out. The only drawback to a textile or canvas shoe is that its durability is nowhere near leather. These shoes are produced with the intent of being a disposable product and they do not repair well. Taking care of them by interchanging them with other pairs of shoes will lower the wear and tear compared to a situation where they are used on a daily basis.
There are other generic methods of keeping your shoes in good shape. Using a shoe horn will allow you to avoid breaking down the collar of your shoe, which is the area that wraps around your foot above your heel. Also, a more expensive pair might make it worth the effort of finding a good repair shop.
Even those not obsessed with shoes can benefit by keeping them well maintained. You can reduce the environmental impact by keeping shoes out of a landfill as long as possible, you will save money and you will be happy to know that your favorite pair of shoes that are no longer made can be worn for years. Your shoes are vitally important in your everyday life, so there is no shame in taking a little extra care of them.

Diabetes: Tips on leg and foot care to avoid complications

It is important that diabetes sufferers be aware of the possible risks that may affect their overall health, beginning with the feet and legs. To be well informed is to be well prepared. Once you know more about the possible consequence of diabetes, you can come up with the necessary action plan to prevent the consequence from becoming a reality. The following paragraphs will provide the necessary tips to diabetes sufferers on how to take extra special care of their feet and legs. At most, the diabetes sufferer can at least delay the onset of serious damages. The tips here are obtained from what I have read as well as what I myself have experienced first-hand. I hope it serves you well too.
Look out for growth such as corns and calluses. Do not try to cut it off. Attempts to remove it may give rise to infections that could spread to other parts of the feet and legs. Also, do not self-medicate. It is better to consult a medical doctor. Even if there is some loose skin on the feet or legs, do not peel it off. I remembered that in my younger days, when I have a corn that grew near to my sole, I would use a corn plaster to remove it. Now, I would not do this. I would seek a doctor’s advise on the best possible way to remove it. I’m afraid that should I remove it myself, the wound might not heal. This could lead to complications and if it could not be cured, the possibility of having my leg amputated is very high.
Is there any pain in your feet or legs? Check that there is no swelling. Also, check that no sores or blisters have developed. If the pain continues without any sign of improvement, a diabetes sufferer should consult a medical doctor. I am more aware nowadays with what my feet and legs are saying to me
To ensure that your feet and legs are taken care of, always wash in warm water. Do not use hot water, as it may cause complication. Make sure that the diabetic sufferer feet are always well taken care of and clean off all dirt. Do not soak the diabetic feet in water. Just rinsing it should be sufficient. Thereafter, dry the feet thoroughly especially in-between the toes. Failure to take care of the space in-between the toes could possibly lead to bacteria breeding and that may result in infection if it is not clean properly.
Diabetes sufferer will have to remember to trim their toenails. Do not trim it too short as it might cause problem. Previously, I have the habit of cutting my toenails as short as possible. Sometimes, I may even draw blood in the process of cutting my nails. Also, it is not advisable to cut the nails into a rounded edge as it will encourage in-grown toenail. A doctor once told me that should there be in-grown toenails, they might have to do surgery on the toe to remove the nail in the affected toe.
The last tip here is that to protect the feet, a diabetes sufferer should never walk barefooted. Always wear a pair of shoes that covers the toes as well as the whole feet. Make sure that the shoes are a comfortable fit and is not too small that it crimps your feet or too large that there is no grip. You will need to wear a pair of well-padded socks. Avoid wearing sandals, especially those with an open front, as it will expose your feet. You may inevitably kick something while walking about in a pair of sandals and might injure your toes or other parts of your feet. So it is better to be safe than sorry by wearing shoes and socks for better protection.

Skateboard Ankle Support – Tips For Foot Care

No matter how good a skateboarder you may be, it is important that good care should be taken while skating. This can be done by properly wearing all available skateboard pads. Apart from this, one should not forget the skateboard ankle support. The main part of the body which deals with skateboarding is the feet. The foot balances itself on the skateboard deck and helps in the movement of the board. The foot is attached to the skateboard ankle support which helps the foot to have a support on the skateboard deck. This balances the skateboarder’s body on the board and allows him to take high jumps and again balance back to the ground. All this requires a lot of control over the skateboard which the skateboarder can easily do with the skateboard ankle support. In this way, with some practice and confidence one finds it very easy to ride a skateboard in an effective way.
A proper sport shoe is a must for every person who wishes to ride a skateboard. The shoe gives a good skateboard ankle support over the grip tape to the skateboarder. The grip tape is pasted on the top surface of the deck of the skateboard, so that the skateboarder has a good grip of the board. This makes skating quite easy and comfortable. Even for a beginner, a good set of skateboard pads along with the ankle support can make his initial riding lessons easy. This will encourage him to skate better and at greater speed. As soon as one gets comfortable with the existing one, with a little bit more of practice can help him slope down a hill too.
Most of the teenagers like to test their skills on a skateboard, but even older people develop interest in it, as they watch others riding on the skateboard so smoothly. This is the reason why older people like the game of skateboarding as well as teenagers. A skateboard ankle support has a great part to play in this, as one can learn to ride only after making a perfect balance over the board. If the balance is maintained well then the skateboarder can pick up a lot of speed. No matter what the age of the skateboarder be the support can definitely help in skating properly.
The skateboard ankle support helps in giving prop up not only to the shoe but also to the whole body. In this way a skateboarder can make a perfect balance over the skateboard. Parents can also stay relaxed as the skateboard ankle support will reduce the chances of accident and increase stability while running on a skateboard. The greater the speed, the greater balancing technique will be required and in case of high jumps on the tracks a good grip is a must. This is the reason why an ankle support can make skating on the board very easy and comfortable. So, there is a great need for every skateboarder to hold on to the ankle support.

Because of the disease diabetes, damage can be caused to blood vessels and nerves in the feet, then circulation may be impaired and infections can form on the feet without the person realizing. This can ultimately cause major complications and even amputation. Diabetes also impairs the immune system so diabetics are more prone to infection. Those who suffer from the disease should have regular foot examinations by their doctor and should know whether or not they have nerve damage.
To prevent and check whether there is injury to the feet you should get into a routine of checking and caring for your feet, this is especially important if you already have nerve or blood vessel damage or current foot problems. Here are twenty important natural tips for keeping your feet healthy:
1. Inspect your feet thoroughly every day.
2. Clean your feet daily in lukewarm water (test this with your hands) with a natural soap, dry them thoroughly to prevent fungal infection.
3. Protect your feet constantly by wearing well fitted, comfortable but sturdy shoes.
4. Never walk around without some kind of footwear to protect your feet.
5. Clean, dry cotton or wool socks are also a good way to protect your feet from pressure points and bacteria caused by sweat.
6. Always apply a little amount of a natural foot cream that contains antibacterial agents to the soles of your feet after bathing, avoiding the skin between the toes. Diabetics can find that the skin on their feet dries and cracks easily which can potentially leave them open to infection.
7. When cutting toenails always soak the feet in a good foot soak that has antibacterial properties in it to soften the nails and cleanse away any bacteria and grime from the nails. Remember to cut the nail straight across with a nail clipper, since curved nails are more likely to become ingrown.
8. Using a gentle natural foot scrub can smooth any small rough areas before they become a problem.
9. Exercise promotes good circulation so walk daily and don’t sit in one spot for too long. An easy exercise is to make circle with your feet ten times in each direction, keeping your leg as still as possible.
10. Sitting with your feet elevated for 10 minutes will also help your circulation.
11. Regularly massage your feet, this will also stimulate the circulation.
12. If you do notice a sore or any type of infection, see your doctor for treatment.
13. Stop smoking. It’s awful for the circulation and your health generally.
