i have 2 two year old paint fillys. they are in general good health. diet is free range forage on pasture/fields; receiving plain oats twice a day, plenty of water. i just want to know what i should look for that a novice(like me!) wouldn’t notice right away. they are hosed down twice a day(we live in southwest kansas–over 100 degree days abound in the summer right now) and they love it–and it is ice cold well water but they stand right there waiting for it…lol! they have both had their feet trimmed minimally. thanks for any advice!

Colic can happen it they overeat, either grain or grass in Spring when they have been eating hay. You should try cleaning their hooves regularly, preferably daily.
Horses can get bruises on their soles and that can lead to abscess. Other diseases are prevented by vaccinations, like West Nile or strangles and horse ‘flu.

It’s my understanding that HGH has many other health benefits than just height increase. It also my understanding that one does not have to be gh deficient to receive it, the patient only needs to be short as minimum requirement. I also understand that one can not grow any taller from HGH if the growth plates are closed. That being said, without respect to height increase, what are some of the other positive benefits from using HGH?

Tripling premiums on individuals, doubling premiums for groups? Spending exhorbitant amounts on lobbying instead of lowering premiums so that more individuals could afford premiums.

not obese, don’t screw around, two normal healthy births in early sixties, paid 5 for first and 0 for second, in cash, no insurance. Don’t ski, hang glide, etc. Was once rear ended at red light by drunk driver at 8 in morning on way to work. Have no disability, take no medications, have no health problems at all, but paid ,500 last year in health premiums, ins co. paid only for mammogram, pap smear, blood work for yearly physical and . for doctor. Your telling me they only made profit off of me.
At the time of renewal of the policy they increased my premium .00 a month. I cancelled.
Oh yes, about the C sections. My 90 year old Aunt and Uncle is still taking care of their 70 year old damaged child because the Doctor tried to prove a point and waited too long to give the C section.
Any more remarks mbrcatz?

hey guys,

i am a pre-med student and am very comfortable with doing this myself.

it all happend when i stepped on a piece of glass and it was too deep to get it out, and i was too lazy to scrape around it with a tweezers to pull it out. well now the skin has fully healed over, and it’s very painful to walk on it. i really need it taken out.

it seems so simple, so i’m not going to a doctor. my main question is how can i anesthetize the area (which is distal to the the bottom of my foot)? it doesn’t have to be completely numb, i can handle some pain, but are there any home remedies that can anesthetic properties?

any other tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
premed students are required to take a year min of human anatomy and physiology, which is very informative about the human body. it’s not just ochem

and yes distal to my foot, just before my toes though.
i’m not really worried about infection.. i have tons of iodine and rubbing alcohol and know how to use it!

first off, Pre-meds know jack about medicine or surgery. They don’t teach that stuff in Organic chemistry.
Second, distal to the foot are your toes.
Third, you’ll get laughed at calling them tweezers in a medical setting.
Finally, Go see your doctor. I’m not advising you to mutilate your foot. Leave it to a professional.

FIRST he has been to the vet he was diagnosed with a disease called degenerative meylopthy and he also has hip displasia. (sorry about spelling the diseases wrong) He is not in pain because the first disease makes him loose feeling in his legs. He just walked funny for a while now he is draging his foot a lot and he trips over his own rear legs. Not all the time but when he tries to play or he might fall if he is caught off gaurd. He doesn’t seem to be unhappy at all but I feel so bad for him. I think I am dealing with it worse than the dog he just gets a little frustrated when he has a hard time getting up otherwise he just ignores it and keeps going. My husband is in denial maybe that is how I should be???
yes he is a german shepherd we don’t plan to let him get to the point where he needs a cart we have a lot of stairs and that would be really hard and for that matter he has always been afraid of staris.

its difficult i had a dog that had emphysema and the vet said medication would help and it did for a time then he got heart problems ,even though the vet said he was not suffering as animal owners you watch there health deteriorate and you feel sorry for them its a natural thing to do,
i watched my dog for years deteriorate i suppose at some points in his treatment i went into denial and pretended every thing was OK but there was constant reminders he got out of breath he could not walk properly and then it just proved my dog was sick.
you will handle it in your own way no two people are the same good luck
