Question by Billary: Is this health care deal the biggest case of political cold feet ever?
The democrats do not need the republicans. However, one by one they are chickening out. Look at all the studies by their staff using the same data hoping to justify universal government run coverage.

There is one thing that democrats will always put in front of principal…POWER!

The core of America are moderate conservatives. That is what this nation was founded on, and despite polls and even the recent election outcome–the core of America will stand up against what they know could be harmful to their great nation.

obama lied on the health care tax. this speaks of what they are into. is the government dictator enough to impose penalty to people who don’t like their obamacare? crass.

I’m depressed by the Democrats as well, that’s why I left the party 5 years ago. They’ve managed to take what used to be a huge confidence in their abilities and thrash it to pieces. Those words may be too harsh…more like they let it die. Some Democrats have managed to hold my attention, but it’s far fewer than I’d hope.

But I’d still say you’re overstating the issue. Don’t knock them on the health care issue yet, there’s still a decent chance that things will work out. My main hope is that our president goes the extra mile and says that he’s drawing the line at the public option, and unless it’s on the bill that reaches his desk, he’ll veto it. It would be enough to make me believe that the party might be moving to take a strong stance on something very important.

Honest debate within the party is a positive thing no matter how much Republicans try to pretend otherwise.

Sort of. But it is blue dog Democrats who are being bought out by the health insurance lobby which is preventing reform from passing.

I do not understand why so many Americans have fallen for lies about healthcare in the USA, abroad and also the planned reforms [1]. I mean, if the healthcare system in the USA is so good, why have no other nations taken it up? Could it be due to the following facts?
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet [2].
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids under five than western European countries with universal health coverage [3].
Or if the US healthcare system is run so well, why not run the fire service like the healthcare system? [4]
Maybe that is because in the USA, insurance companies push up costs, buy politicians and refuse to pay claims that people pay for [5]. (Look up Wendell Potter on YouTube to hear more if the link below is too long.)
Obama wants to make insurance cheaper, stop insurance companies from refusing health coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, and make sure they pay out when they are meant to [6], a system similar to that which works in Taiwan [7]. He debated this before he was elected [8].
Is it right that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, Cuba, Germany and so many other industrialised nations with universal healthcare?
If you think my arguments are wrong, e-mail me with proof. But if you can not, let Obama try to help America. If he fails, vote him out in 2012.

Federal Health Bill Calls For Billions in Orwellian Psych Programs and Treatments
Information: As the entire country is aware, there is currently an effort in Congress to pass a massive “Health Care Reform” bill. In fact, Congressional leadership is doing everything in its power to pass this $1 trillion plus bill.
There are two versions of the bill — one in the House (H.R. 3200) and one in the Senate (there is no number for the Senate bill at this point, but it is titled the Affordable Health Choices Act).
Both bills forward massive increases in government funding of mental health programs that turn America into a full blown therapeutic state…

Dear The Patriot: I do not understand why so many Americans have fallen for lies about health care in the USA, abroad and also the planned reforms. I mean, if the health care system in the USA is so bad, why have people in other countries come here for so many medical procedures?

Health care needs to be reformed. We can all agree on that. What does not make sense any way you look at it is that they are planning on passing this reform and then getting the waste and corruption out of Welfare and taking away Atvantage Welfare and then, then using that money that they will be saving, according to them, to help pay for program.

That is a bunch of crock. If they could get the waste and corruption out of Welfare why haven’t they done it sooner and why not before starting this whole reform program? That makes sense, not setting up the program and then hoping that they will be able to get the waste and corruption out? Believe me that will never happen. Especially if the government, who are so corrupt themselves, have their hands in it.

If health care reform goes through, I want to work for one of the bureaucratic offices that they set up for it because that is where the big money will be filtered to and by golly I want my share.

As for the Democrats chickening out, I pray that they do have enough sense to know that if they vote for total reform of the health care system they won’t have to worry about what is taking place in Congress anymore. They will be voted out of office. Then we can start on the corrupt Republicans.
