Question by Stacdog: On disability due to broken foot, can my employer make me pay for my health insurance?
I live in California. I’m on disability due to a broken foot that happened exactly 1 week before I was due back to work after being on FMLA, preceded by pregnancy disability.

No I am not trying to milk anything! I work 2 jobs & I’m a single mother. I’m simply here asking questions, I’m not asking for your rude remarks. Also on my other question, I work completely on my feet for 1 of my jobs, and no I cannot work with a cast. I cannot put any pressure on it at all. Remember to qualify for disability you must be certified by a doctor, and I was.

Yes . You have to pay the PREMIUM if you want to keep the insurance.

They don’t have to make you pay for insurance, but if you don’t pay it, then you won’t have it anymore.

Yes. Most companies do however offer different plans that you may choose from. For the most part group insureance through your employer is less expensive than it would be if you were to find one on your own.

If you broke your foot on your own time, it is not work related and yes, he can make you pay for health insurance.

Trying to milk the money issue also?
