Question by Cutie Pie 2: Why are democrats so adamant about getting universal health care?
Why should I foot everyone else’s bill if I’m perfectly healthy and take care of myself (especially since America is getting so obese!) What is going to prevent people from quitting or not finding a job because they don’t need benefits anymore?
More importantly, what is going to happen to the time someone has to wait to see a doctor??? Type in “wait times for surgery in Canada” on Google and see what you get.

You should not have to pay for others health care. This is the same old socialist welfare system the dems have been pushing for years now.

What will you do when you get cancer or some other inevitable problem associated with age? (Yes, you will get old)
Here is what might happen without universal care: You have health insurance under your employer or you buy it yourself. You get very sick and can’t go to work. You lose your job. You can’t pay for the insurance yourself because it is hundreds/thousands a month and you aren’t working. You have to stop treatment. You die.
Let’s provide all Americans with free healthcare and lay off all healthcare insurance agents. Oh, and also give them free food.

The only thing that I am going to say here is that this Country is one of the only ones left in the world that does not take care of there own, yet we spend unspeakable amounts of money to rebuild Country’s that we destroyed in the first place, I would much rather have my tax dollars going back into my own Country not someone else’s.
Because people shouldn’t die from curable conditions just because they aren’t rich or lucky enough to have a job with health insurance.
You should not get a job cuza the benifits. You should get it cuza the type of work it is, something of interest to you, and the pay.
That’s what college is for. So you can train for a feild. Not pick a job cuz of it’s “benefits”. If you do that, you are sure to be miserable.
Regarding your question, they want to create a country that is dependent on its leaders. This ensures their power and control.

I am nonpatisan, I think both parties are full of BS. The idea of ” universal health care ” is a good one if done right. Social security retirement, disability, medicare, medicaide, are all paid for by working peoples. The idea is that all of us will need it eventually. Health care we all need now and those who are healthy will need it then, so let’s do it. My problems are the loop holes, prisoners getting SSI, John Mcain ( who has free health care, paid for by you ) drawing SSI AND getting senator pay for life. Whine about freeloaders will you? Look! I could end the mortgage crisis by diverting war money for one month. Did they aske me? or you?
Thats a good question. It wont work. It might be cheaper if everyone pitches in, but how exactly do you make it fair? It will just bring on more problems because “omg… the government is only charging this person this much and im getting charged this much and im healthy!”
You bring up an excellent point with the wait times in canada being so high – record highs in fact. Another complaint that you can expect to hear once it makes its debut in america.

You already paying for other peoples heath care because the cost of the uninsured to the system increases the premium you pay for insurance and the bills you pay. Also you are paying taxes that pays for almost half of all health care cost. No one has proposed the Canadian system for the US, All the candidate including McCain are proposing help and incentives to get everyone insurance which will be cheaper over all for you. Before you vote you should at least read what Obama and McCain has proposed.

The fact that you think that getting heath insurance is the only reason people work shows how messed up the current system is.
